On Saturday, May 30, LRRP Director Liz Reiner Platt will speak at America Beyond 250: Reclaiming the Promise of Pluralism, a one-day gathering in Philadelphia bringing together advocates, scholars, faith leaders, and community organizers to discuss threats to democratic pluralism and how to build a more inclusive future for our country. This event will take place at the Arch Street Meeting House in Old City Philadelphia, a historic Quaker site. The program will run from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m., with an optional walking tour of nearby historic sites beginning at 9:00 a.m. Liz will be joined by speakers including Bishop Dwayne Royster (Faith in Action), Maggie Siddiqi (Interfaith Alliance), Pennsylvania State Representative Malcolm Kenyatta, and leaders from American Atheists, which is hosting the event as part of its ongoing programming on religious freedom, pluralism, and democracy.
